Fan Girling – 5 Seconds of Summer

I’m a huge fan girl. It’s not really a secret around here. If you were to ask my friends they would wholeheartedly agree that I am definitely a fan girl. I was also a fan of music, bands, celebrities, etc. I remember being in like 2nd grade and being OBSESSED with the Backstreet Boys, high school it was the Jonas Brothers, and Zac Efron for awhile. As I’ve continued to grow you would think I would’ve left this alone and not fan girl anymore. Well you thought wrong.

This all started about 2 years ago when a friend of mine had told me about One Direction. I had never heard of them, but their song What Makes You Beautiful was catchy so I started to listen to it. Little did I know that this would begin my descent into what sometimes feels like a professional fan girl. I became obsessed. I got my best friend obsessed. We love those boys like they’re our own friends, and will defend them til we die. But they aren’t the focus of this post (trust me I could do posts on posts on posts about them!).

It’s because of my fan girl ways that I became a fan of another band. This band is Australian. And they’re wonderful! Ashton, Calum, Luke, and Michael are 4 Aussies who were lucky enough to be the opening act for One Direction during the London, Australian, and US legs of the Take Me Home. I first heard them and absolutely LOVED them. It was cool to listen to a boy band, who actually played all the instruments.

This is a picture of the 5SOS merch I bought when I went to the Take Me Home tour concert last summer and saw them. They have more merch available to order on their website.

Even since last year these boys have grown so much, and as a fan it’s incredibly to see. They went from being our little secret to having a number one pre-ordered single all over the world. They’ve also started their own record label underneath Capital Records, which is also incredibly. We have a love for each other.

This week the boys released the news that they were be releasing an official single entitled She Looks So PerfectAnd through their Vevo channel on YouTube (aka they’re legit now!) they released a lyric video for the song. And to be honest, it’s an amazing song. It’s catchy (and has been stuck in my head since the video came out yesterday).

I’m a huge fan of music. I listen to the lyrics, and the actual musicality of the song. And for 5SOS, both of these elements are fantastic in this song. These boys are so talented and their journey is just beginning. One day they will have their own world tour selling out stadiums. The future holds HUGE things for these boys.

Be sure to click on the She Looks So Perfect link to see the lyric video!

You can check out their official website here. (The website also has links to their personal Twitter and Instagram accounts). Also be sure to sign up for their newsletter (if you’ve become a fan, or are a fan and haven’t yet). They do make announcements through there!
